ABOUT JASSI

Jassi (Jasbir) Singh Khangura has just been nominated as the Congress candidate for Halqa Dakha for the 2012 Punjab Assembly Elections. He is the sitting MLA from Qila Raipur Punjab. Boundary delimitation has meant the constituency of Qila Raipur no longer exists so Jassi is now standing from Dakha which has some of the same villages as the old Qila Raipur constituency, including Jassi’s native village, Latala.

Having fulfilled his election promises to Qila Raipur, Jassi now sets out to apply the same dedication to the Dakha constituency. We ask you to support Jassi in his mission.

Renowned for keeping election promises, his firebrand-style challenges of the SAD-BJP Government and determination to improve Punjab through intelligent policy and grass roots changes, Jassi is well known beyond his constituency and extremely approachable.

Jassi seeks to build a cohesiveness between both resident and non-resident (NRI) Punjabis and uses his own experience to help NRIs fight for their rights in India and for better services. Believing social and economic and electoral input of NRIs is vital to the overall growth and development of Punjab, Jassi stands firmly in support of the Diaspora’s rights in India.

With a keen focus on education, transport and transparency, Jassi believes that Punjabis need enabling more broadly in terms of access to egovernance, education and healthcare in order that they can be a better part of change and state-wide upliftment and progress.

In the coming 2012 Punjab Assembly elections, Jassi will be fighting to defeat the Akali-BJP alliance and to return Congress to power. He will be working through old and new methods ranging from public offices to rallies, facebook to youtube. On this site you will find several ways to find out more about what Jassi stands for, to join his campaigns or just to support his objectives. Please do support Jassi to bring positive change to Punjab.
