Jassi is the Congress candidate from Dakha constituency in Ludhiana district for the 2012 Punjab Assembly elections. Currently the sitting MLA for Qila Raipur, Jassi’s constituency is changing due to delimitation. Boundaries changed and Jassi’s ancestral village, Latala, now falls in the new Dakha halqa, along with 22 other villages from the former Qila Raipur constituency. Jassi now plans to apply the same dedication and determination as an MLA in Dakha.

He also believes there is much to learn and has attended a workshop for MLAs held by PRS Legislative Research at the Indian School of Business in Hyderabad.
He spends considerable time in his constituency meeting people there, and also holds a weekly public day in his Ludhiana office which is open for anyone to attend. He maintains detailed case reports of each visit and is has a reputation for following up with constituents on their issues.
Tech savvy, Jassi understands the importance of engaging with his supporters in a way that suits the supporters, and therefore is very active on both

where he places videos, items of interest and engages with supporters in an informal way.
A keen observer of current affairs and with a quick wit, Jassi has earned himself a reputation as something of a firebrand and is known well beyond his own constituency.
